About one hour drive from the Sharm el Sheikh International Airport there is a backpacker's paradise and a center of alternative culture - a small town Dahab.
Skyrock Dahab is located in a quiet part of the town, in Assallah. In just 3 minutes walk you will reach the Assallah Square with local shops and markets. In about 5 minutes walking you will enjoy the tourist part of Dahab - the pedestrian zone with many restaurants, shops, diving schools and yoga studios.
Skyrock Dahab is located directly on the Red Sea, just 5 meters from the private beach, equipped with loungers and parasols.
The Red Sea is one of the most spectacular dive locations in the world, and the cost around Dahab offers a great choice of amazing diving sites. Just about 150 meters from the hotel there is a beautiful and still very natural coral reef - an ideal spot for snorkeling and swimming directly in front of Skyrock.
The Red Sea is very narrow here, you can see the coast of Saudi Arabia, which is only about 25 kilometers away.
Dahab is a popular place for divers, freedivers and kite surfers. The choice of providers teaching watersports and offering diving courses is really good. Kite surfing, snorkeling and diving can be enjoyed here all year round, there is no seasonality for water sports in Dahab. We were using wetsuits in the winter months, but many people were swimming without.
Skyrock is a new unique hotel, built and run by a French-Egyptian family. Eight stylishly furnished studios are available for guests, all studios have a fully equipped kitchen.
Very good WiFi is available free of charge.
If you want to see the sea straight from your bed, this is the place for you.
Breakfast is served in the cozy front garden, creatively furnished with so much love and attention to every detail.
Enjoy stunning views of the Red Sea from your balcony (first floor rooms), from the front yard or from the large terrace on top of the roof.
The owners Monique and Esam are both excellent artists. That is why the Hotel Skyrock looks like a small museum for modern arts! Almost everything - all the sculptures, pictures and even some furniture were created by the owners themselves.
Some sculptures "are floating" in the wind. This explains the meaning behind the name of "Skyrock".
Esam, the owner of the hotel, strongly believes, that art has the power to prevent and to reduce crime and violence in our world. "When one is making or enjoying art, he or she can't think or do anything aggressive at the same time," so Esam. Therefore, Monique and Esam want to bring more art to Dahab, to surround their guests with beautiful things, to create a friendly, supportive and relaxed atmosphere in Skyrock and to make the world a better place using art as the creative path to peace.
This video lets you feel the atmosphere I captured there.
Esam showed us his art studio where he is working on new sculptures. We talked a lot about art and life. This was a very enriching moment for me and for Anna.
The family has 2 more larger apartments with a garden, just few houses further, also directly by the sea. This place is called "Skyrock Garden". It was an aesthetic pleasure for me to make photographs there.
The entire hotel team is brilliant! We stayed in Skyrock for one week and enjoyed every moment. We were absolutely happy with every service delivered by the amazing and very competent team! Thank you very much dear all for your hospitality, the time together and the positive vibes you are spreading in Skyrock!
